Belt buckle???

Belt buckle?? Found by old foundation of probably 1800's home. Someone else suggested a snuff tin lid but the sides don't look it to me.

as far as i can tell its a lid to something but nice find

i have sold little jewelry boxes with a metal covered wood lid similar to what you have posted...
popular in the 20's, and early hippie era...that one looks a bit older than the 1960's.
