Mr Montauk3, what is that item with orange handle and where did you get your belt? Thanks, RuffandTuff

Lowes.

$9.95 for an AWP four pocket carpenter's pouch

$5.95 for a web belt.

$2.49 for a box of Rit Lincoln Green dye ( bag & belt were originally canvas brown)

A buckle from a friend in England in exchange for a replacement mainspring for a Colt 1851 Navy and some of my Stumpkiller's Patch Lube to replace the plastic "quick release" stock buckle. Plus three copper rivets & washers.

I keep a hammer loop on the belt for a chisel point rock hammer and swap out the Lesche M85 Digger or Trans Mississippi digger depending on whether I'm in the woods or a park. (Lesche is much better around roots, TMD much better in parks).

I REALLY like that buckle, Charlie!!
It's pretty smooth... and adds a certain 'relic' flair to it all!

The orange thingy is the handle for the scoop that is not in the picture.
The belt is an imported special item from Lowes. Cost about seven dollars.

The things that the snaps attach to are divers weight retainers with loops.

Hope this helps, if not, ask.

P.S.
I added the brass grommets myself.

Myself,
I am a carpenter and have many spare bags to use but I cant find a holder for my pinpointer. Other than a holder for a drill does anyone have a special holder for a Bullzeye?

Just curious
Steve

Hey EZ, What I end up doing is taking the inflatable camo seat cushion w/ the belt made by hunter specialties for deer/ turkey huntn, and then strap a couple shoutgun shell bags for uplanded on it aswell as a awp contractor pouch and it holds all our shovels, towels , and many other items ,short of the sink. My 9 year old slings over his shoulder and boy wonder isnt even fazed . Best part you have something to save the knees and keep em dry with the cushion . Sling or belt it it works great for us GOD BLESS and HH Monty

If you have a Military surplus close to you, look around there. First aid, ammo, clip pouches etc. You can probably find something that's close & modify it. I use a aviators helmet bag to carry all the extras I don't need at that particular time like batteries car charger extra phones probes diggers containers for goodies and my tool belt. Everything in one place ready to grab & go. Cut way down on my "jeeze I left it at home" time.

The pouch / belt combo that I use is made as follows. I read this tip in a treasure hunting magazine about 25 years ago and it works great and is c-h-e-a-p to make and is pretty tough to boot.

(1) One soft-bodied, plain lady's purse with sewed-on soft handles bought at a local Dollar General Store.

(2) One man's belt; black, 1 & 1/4 inch wide, long enough to fit my waist. (looooong one).

(3) One package of brass rivets.

Remove one of the purse's handles and discard. Cut the other handle into at the midpoint of the loop. Bend the handle ends (one at a time) down to the outside surface of the purse to form a belt loop. Make a hole through the handle piece and the body of the purse so that they can be riveted together. Do the same procedure with the second handle stub. Now, thread the belt through the 2 new "belt loops"; adjust your new pouch (purse) to suit your comfort.
NOTE: Use a purse with a zippered compartment inside for a secure "pocket" for the goodies you'll find and use the main compartment to carry your dug trash for disposal.
I suggest using a plain black purse and NOT a fancy loud colored or (shudder !!) a gold metallic one. These could attract extra unwanted attention. OR WANTED (whatever trips your trigger. ::) )

I use a coin bag from a local bank ( out of business ) with a
carabiner for a belt loop attachment.

Predator Tools, sells four different pouches.
I bought the "SILVER HUNTER"http://predatortools.com/pouches.htm along with a new "Mauler" digging tool. I can honestly say that it is the best pouch that I have ever owned and I have tried many different kinds. You can check them out on the Predator Tool site but the pics really don't do the pouches any justice because they fail to show all of the pockets and different features. Try one out, you won't be sorry and no, I don't work for Predator Tools. ::)
HH, Bottlebum

PS The Mauler is one heck of a nice digger too.

I now carry everything I need on this construction tool belt.
Lesche Tool
E-Z-Digger
Plastic scoop
Brass probe
Swiss Army Knife
Swingey-Thingey
AutoMax V2 Pinpointer
Cell Phone
GPS
Camera
It works for me. At the moment.

I love the way that the suspender rig looks! It looks just like a military combat rig - which has always proven very efficient!

Chris

Here's my belt, bags and pouches. The Klein bolt bag I use for scrap and misc tools and can be bought at a industrial supply store for about 14 bucks, very heavy duty. The 2 pouches and belt came from lowes, pouches were 10 bucks came as a set included one other pouch that I don't use. Belt was under 10 dollars can't recall the exact amount. Looks like a lot but actually very lightweight, on long days I strap on my camelbak backpack for water on the go!

I've tried many different rigs through the years, but have come to rely on a canvas double pouch nail apron from Home Depot - .99c. All goodies go into my pocket, and trash and tools are in the pouch, and my left rear pocket. Always carry some trash to show people what you are finding, and make a big deal about cleaning up in a trashy area, and make sure someone is watching when you dispose of some of it properly in a trash can. Public areas of course.

I found a great pouch at Lowes . the AWP 10 pocket pouch nylon # 1L-798-NB and the adjustable nylon belt. the pouch is $24.00 and belt is around$5.00. 3 very deep pockets will hold pinpointers and diggers without falling out. Also steel loops to hold larger picks. Also if you push your Lesche digger through the stitching at the bottom of the knife pouch it fits perfect. Lots of room for junk in the large open part and goodies in the smaller front pouch. I have been using it about 3 weeks and really like it. I dint know how to get the pics up but go to lowes.com and enter the part # above and the belt # is 1L-506.

Ok so I FINALLY got around to taking pictures of my "Fatman Utility Belt" as Baldingboy calls it.

The pouch is custom made. There are two sections the front one is for coins and little things that I consider keepers. The big back pouch is for all other junk.

The blue pouch has a CPR mask in it. The Silver container is for big things that I don't want scratched and the other is obviously cell phone case.

Thanks for looking
