Belated thanks to Duffytrash for my daughter's Christmas find
I would like to give out a huge thank you to Duffytrash for a gift he sent my daughter at Christmas. I forget exactly where I was talking about it because it has been a while, but I mentioned that my then 6 year old daughter loved marbles that I found detecting and she began to collect them. I agree with her they are awesome. Our goal is some day to have a 5 gallon octogonal fish tank we have filled with them and have them on display. We get them by finding on the ground, or finding at a super deal yardsale... well the only rule we have on this long quest is that we can't buy them in a store.
ANYWAYS Duffytrash read it and sent my daughter some beautiful marbles for her collection. Unfortunately I was not able to be here when they were opened by my daughter. But DUFFY she loved them, I heard she spent much time that morning looking at them and really really enjoyed them.
I would have wanted to post this back at Christmas, but as some of you know I have been away from the site for around 9 months. Some old injuries/ medical injuries kept me from typing and checking out things here (All explained in a recent post on everything else section).
My daughter says Thank you very much Duffytrash she loves the marbles. And I say thank you very much, you are a testiment to the outstanding calibur of peps here on this site. I am going to show the pictures now.
Before I show the pics I wanted to mention that the other thing my daughter collected was Canadian Pennies / coins because they are different. Because of that she also likes foreign coins.
My hands have Carpal Tunnel kind of extreme, another member sent my daughter some books to keep her canadian pennies and other coins in. Also he gave us a huge surprise and sent her a bunch of coins from many different countries. I will be posting that soon as well. My daughter did not want anything to happen to the coins, and she didn't want any chance that someone would steal them. So she had me put them in our fire safe, which is currently surrounded with some very heavy boxes and other things (until we can get all of our stuff integrated into my mother's home). I cannot get them out right now because of my hands. One of my friends is supposed to come over soon and help me move around a few things. I will be getting those collections out then and posting the pictures as well as the thank you to that member.
Can't wait till my friend shows up. My daughter's idea to put them them there so they can't be stolen. But since they have been there now 2 months she is driving me crazy asking when will I be able to get them out. She REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to see them and add a few new Canadian pennies to the book LOL>
Duffy you deserve much thanks a recognition for your kind act. We (my family) thank you. And my Daughter says thank you very very much.
The marbles in the paper plate came from Duffy. Atleast I think I got them right, there might still be some in the pile next to it from Duffy, I was not here when they were opened and they were put in with the other marbles eventually so I am unsure if I got them all on the plate. The other marbles beside it I found a good amount of them from a guy selling stuff on the roadside. The pile of marbles he had was only 25 cents so had to get them. Other than that about 9 marbles are ones we found ourselves so far when I was detecting. Got a long way to go for a 5 gallon tank, but that is ok. Gives me and my daughter something to do together. And even with my hands hurt we can still go and eyeball comb new contructions and find marbles.
Thanks to Duffy though we have some really beautiful marbles, much different from any of the rest, and we are closer to fulfilling that long term goal.
