Beginner's Luck!- updated - 2 more pictures added.

I never hunted arrowheads in Texas or my life, for that matter, save for keeping eyes on the ground.
First time out today with a friend who is a serious arrowhead hunter and this beauty appears! I may quit while I'm ahead!

Very nice Little River point! Be sure to cover the area good, large Little Rivers are often found in caches.

Wow Tim...I don't know doodly about arrowheads but that one is looks to be in such great shape!! To think it is 3500 years old is.....well, insane!

Congrats Tim, but don't quit now. How can you after finding such a beauty?? That is truly a treasure. I am in awe for sure!!!

Would a Little River be in SE Texas?

Little River are generally found Tx, LA, OK, and Ark. They are all over eastern TX. South would be a far stretch for them, but could easily happen. They are usually distinguishable by the notches and basal configuration. The original "Little River" points were found as a cache by Greg Perino (well, actually his wife) and I've handled them many times. They share a similar age with the Smith and Ouachita, two other very large basally notched points. All of them can readily occur in caches.

The Little River points are basally notched in a "V" shape, such as yours. Delhi is actually a generic "catch all" term, but they are a stemmed point with much shorter barbs.
