Relic Hunting
After seeing Pecahy's great finds, I remembered that I promised Richard (TnMountains) that I would show a few of our middle Tennessee Indian artifacts.
I grew up in a bend of the Cumberland River where Woodland Indians and earlier cultures lived. The river bottoms there and on the other side of the County where I live now had abundant artifacts. This box contains finds that my son (who will be 26 next week) and I found when he was about 10-11 years old. The Lost Lake point in the box was found by my Dad who passed away in 1988. This box contains a lot of pleasant memories. You never get too old to enjoy picking up an arrowhead. Enjoy and HH, Quindy.

Nice Quindy
That frame shows a lot of years of occupation and to think it was just two seasons with your son. Imagine if you had kept hunting them and finding them at that rate.haha, you would not have many CW relics. Nice bunch of relics sir. I was digging a target the other day and up pops some knapped flint. I think there were signs thru the ages that said "camp here". Am sure there are some great memorys in there for your son as well.
Nice artifacts!

Nice looking frame!!! Have you found any cumberland points down that way?
Not that I'm aware of in my area. I am not very knowlegeable about Indian artifacts but I have shown most of the ones we have found to some experts and they didn't mention a "Cumberland". Maybe Richard can tell us what areas they are more commonly found. We live about 40 Miles NE of Nashville. Thanks for looking.

Quindy the one your Dad found is a Lost Lake. It is very old also,, Yes there are Cumberlands in your area. They are a Paleo point. Rare is the hunter that finds them whole. I know of only one guy. Seems there are a lot for sale though :icon_scratch:

Thanks Richard. I knew it was some kind of water-LOL. I know you have a pic of a Cumberland. Please post one as I have loaned my Indian artifact books to a young man in our community to i.d. his recent recoveries. Thanks, quindy.

Nice frame of points.Do you do any head huntn or does the cw relics keep you too occupied?thx for the look?
I rarely hunt them anymore but I did go today. A young man in the community whose parents are friends and relations called and wanted to go "arrowhead hunting". We hit a couple of spots but found only pieces. We had fun and that's what counts. We were right on the Cumberland River in one spot. We did find a few scrapers and a couple of broken drills. No till farming and the tobacco buyout limits tilled land to hunt here. Thanks for looking, Quindy.
