I have always wanted to do something cool with some of my finds. I decided I wanted to make matching necklaces for me and my girlfriend. I went through my silver coins and found two really nice and similar Mercs. I then noticed they were bot 1944 dates. I took them and had these made for us. Quite cool and she likes it too. So much for being a metal detecting nerd!!!

yeah, really nice

i would have to say its my fav. coin.they look great

Awesome use of finds! I like it!

Very nice. I thought about a twenty foot pull tab necklace but got rid of them.

Reminds me how good Mercury dimes look.

Well, in a emergency you could take them apart and buy...."nothing", come to think of it! A dime used to be worth a phone call.

Speaking of making something out of pull tabs, I saw where people make purses or suits of chain mail with them.

Great idea! They look great.

Your still a nerd but a nerd with a necklace....:laughing7:

Just kidding, I'm in the same bracket but I'm necklaceless.

That'sa cool idea, they turned out great! I like your gfriends other little circle necklace, too.
The Mr and his brothers/friends get gator permits every yr and had some gator teeth, so I used one of my first gold finds and had a tooth capped and made in to a pendant for him. He's worn that thing for 10+ yrs.

Nice idea, they came out looking very good.
