Hi Everybody. Well it's nice to be posting again finally. I haven't been detecting for quite awhile. Hit a spot out here after purchasing a house about 15 miles east of my old place. Got 1 hunt in a couple weeks ago on a lot that had a house from at least 1952 (historicaerials didn't go back any further). Found a 1945 wheaty with my Tek Patriot, took it as a good sign. On my way to the store last week I saw a guy swinging in an empty lot. When I stopped to chat he was stoked on his new machine, a Nokta Makro Simplex. It didn't take much convincing for me to pull the trigger on one at such a great price. Took out the Simplex today to the same lot that I found that 1945 wheat to get acquainted with it. Very pleased so far found a 1959 memorial, 1963 nickel that I believe I missed with the Patriot. Then got another wheat and after soaking in olive oil a couple hours, I could read the date as a 1918 S. Nothing spectacular, but this lot has to be at least an acre. I'm convinced there are some more good finds there, hoping for some silver. Digging this new Simplex, I understand the great reviews now. Just thought I would share. Pics aren't great, but I attached them anyway. Happy hunting y'all. I will be back at it, hopefully with some good finds to post! Scott

Congrats on your finds and new machine!

I really like my Nokta...first time out with it found a 1901 barber dime....said to myself, "yah this'll work for me"8-)

A couple of people in our club use that detector and really like it. Good luck with it.

Im considering a simplex for a backup, as ive sold all my other machines.. between the EQ 600 for under 600 bux from the right vender and the simplex for that price range ..i think garrett must be getting very nervous... i dont know how they sell their line anymore

Good going, keep at it. My poor Garrett has been collecting quite a bit of dust since getting the Simplex. I grew up in Riverside and often think of places I'd like to hunt there, if not built over yet. Along the river by Mt. Rubidoux and Fairmount park come to mind.

Congratulations and happy hunting with your new machine!

Yes, I'm in Hemet. A lot of history here from what I have been researching I agree, near Mt. Rubidoux and some of those downtown areas would be fun to hunt.

Congrats on your finds and your new detector. I am also a new Simplex user and spent a couple hours with it today. Impressive machine !!
