Been A While Since I've Been Out. Sweet Half Dime!!

Hey folks. Been a while since I've been out for a hunt. Got out today for a couple hours into a field near some other fields I've hunted in the past. Never hunted this one though. was finding a few things here and there... a couple buttons, two toe taps, some miscellaneous junk.. and then I came across a signal that wasn't very good and wasn't really repeatable but for some reason I dug it anyway. (best number I could get out of it on my E-trac was 22-35). Dug the hole and popped out some dirt and the signal became much better, hitting at a consistent 11-32. Fished around in the dirt and pulled this out.


I could barely see the seated lady on the obverse. Since I didn't have any water I brought it home and soaked it and then rinsed it off. A nice 1858 Seated Liberty half dime


Also found the front of a two piece button that I thought might be military but turned out not to be. Just an interesting design.

Really nice Seated half dime! Goes to show you that often times good targets are passed up because the ID numbers are off. I for one tend to get lazy and pass on a lot of those iffy/"off" numbers.
