Well, it DOES make "sense"; Yank "Black Dave" Hunter came over the mountains of Bedford County (Peaks of Otter), intending to invade Lynchburg, Va., BUT! CSA Gen. Jubal A. Early stopped him & kicked his arse to the Great Western Road & back towards Big Lick/Roanoke. Va. Many ppl stashed their valuables in diverse places during the CONFEDERATE WAR; some never found & some dug up... THANKS for the stories!
 

in Bedford County, Va., there is a MORGAN Church Road (near Smith Mountain Lake); bet it's in THAT area, of STONY MOUNTAIN... :laughing7:
