If used correctly naval jelly does a great job. Very nice result on that button
 

Careful what you clean. Lots of people like the patina and cleaning could kill the value!!!

Thanks, I appreciate that but I'd never sell this, heck I keep everything lol, now my wife on the other hand that's a different story, she'd sell all my stuff lol

Holy batcrap that thing is beautiful! I would love to take credit for the naval jelly tip, but all I did was pass it on to you. Buckle boy and Abe deserve the cudos. Abe told me just to roll the qtip across the button and I believe BB was the one that said to just rinse with soapy water to prevent losing any of the gilt. Is that the first Infantry button you found or that second recent one?

If I told my wife what all of my stuff was worth she would probably kill me for it!

I had to hide my tree coin well so the lady didn't have it at the auction lol

Awesome button. I have an Artillery button that i found that needs some naval jelly. I need to check that stuff out.
