I found these in someone's yard yesterday. They were the only two old coins that I found there. No wheat pennies or anything else. I only had an hour to detect though, and the owner said that I could come back to finish detecting when I have time.

The seated dime is my first 1800's silver. I wish that I could pull a date off of it, but it looks pretty toasted to me.

To bad that one was burned, nice dime

Great finds, sorry about the burnt seated dime. :'( Seated coins are one of my favorites!

Your dime was made between 1838 & 1860 (Stars)

Congrats on the two silvers!!
Best of luck cleaning the Seated.

Thanks for the info Relic Lover! I didn't think I'd be able to narrow the date down that much.

Any seated is a thing of beauty when you rescue it from the earth! Great finds there!!!!

Now get back there and find another!

HH,

Based on my Seated finds, I'm starting to think that they just minted them that way.
