Beautiful day to go to a yard sale

Wife and I went lookiking at different yardsales.Her fo cups/saucers and I for Junk. She laughed at me and my treasure. It is copper canteen with a copper stopper. The chain seems to be hand made. diameter is 8 inches and the thickness is a bit over 3 inches. looks to be old with a lot of dings and dets. but I have no idea.
Anyone seen one like this? would appreciate any help
