Beautiful Civil War era Cathedral Pickle bottle

We had a blast at the Relic Rescue Civil War dig last week in Culpeper VA. I met some really nice folks, and dug some nice relics. The highlight of the trip was a hut dig wit David Wellingham, where we dug the beautiful Cathedral pickle bottle fully intact. We had a film crew filming which can be seen soon of the recovery. Great hunt!

I have heard the same thin Kuger. People say it's a tough one to dig intact...I'm stoked

Nice finds Mike. It was fun as usual hunting with you and everyone else. I have never hunted a site where more buttons were found than bullets. I still can not believe all the buttons that were found and I can't wait to go back. That is one great looking bottle. Now that we have our PIT DIGGING 101 instructions from David I hope we do some more in the future.

fun is the most important part....pickle jar is real nice too.....pontiled or no pontil ?? i dont recall ever seeing one with lettering on it before.....nice relics too...

It's a concave bottom. Doesn't appear to have a broken punt. With the Lettering it's about a 200.00 bottle I have been told.
