What's the rest of the story? You found three earth colored small round pebbles in a field, that are the same, but graduated sizes. How?

I am by far no expert on rocks. That being said I looked at an online site and your items look like worn down smoky quartz. Scroll about halfway down the page in the following link. You might also want to post this in the Rocks and Gems forum.
