So I went swinging in the 90 something degree heat today and a few targets in I pulled what looks to be a wedding band! I have never found gold so when I looked inside and saw 14 my heart was pounding (it still is) buuuuut there is no K and I have handled a lot of gold in my day and to me it just doesn't look right. If anyone knows these hallmarks or has a opinion PLEASE share. Thanks.

I'm not 100 percent sure from the distance of your pics - but I think the three crowns are Sweden or Denmark and I'm betting
solid 14k at very least ! nice find friend .

i don't know much about stamps on gold either but in sweden we have "kattfoten" similar to the 3 Crown stamp on silver/gold peices.
The C stamp might be the year it was made but im not 100 on that one.
some Swedish stamps (first Picture gold stamps with the catfoot "kattfoten":

Yes, Swedish 14K. The C in the diamond is probably the date. That's a nice one!

Thanks but what about the fact that there is no K after the 14?

Also the ring seams pretty light for gold but it is also extremely thin for a wedding band.

Sweet hunk of gold !

So this is deffinwtly gold then?!? Yes yes yes!

Sorry if i misspell some Words but im swedish and i hope u understand anyway.
Did alittle research.
From what i know The Crowns "kattfoten" is a Swedish Control stamp but it usally have those 3 round things with the 3 Crowns like the Picture posted above/below (yours only got 3 Crowns)
There is also a "oval" stamp with 3 Crowns inside the oval used for imported stuff up to 1988 (see Picture below).
thats what makes me abit confused as urs only has the 3 Crowns by themselves.
but in the older Days there is loads of different stamps so its hard to find the exact one.
It may also be plated if its very very light but plated usally have other stamps like GP and im almost sure they CANNOT have the Control stamp=cat foot/weapon shield/3 crown stamp.
Some rings may have C followed by a number for example C10. C4 etc as a date stamp/year stamp.
if its only a letter im almost certain its the location/city it was made. (i found a very similar stamp as the C stating the location to be karlshamn)

To sum it up.
C followed by a number:example c10=Year (letters may vary and can for example be B10)
Only the C,most likely location:C=karlshamn (letters vary depending on location)
Plated peices=Most likely GP stamped
Cat foot see Picture below:swedish Control stamp for silver/gold/platina (needs to have certian ammount of the noble metals in it to be stamped, if i understand correct) any noble metal over 1 gram= obligatory to have the stamp, plated peices under 9K can not be stamped with that stamp.
Oval Crown stamp, see Picture below: Control stamp of noble metals imported up untill 1988.
I would go to a jewelry store or what u guys have in ur country to get it checked but i would Think its gold.

Nice "Mack" Daddy band you got there MackDigger :) Congratulations!

Sweet ring !!! Is there any more you can tell us about finding it like how deep or was it a different sounding signal etc ... And its rose gold right that is reason for different than normal gold look?

I'm hoping that the rose gold is the reason for color difference and it came up bouncing between a nickel and a pull tab on my Coinmaster pro dug in grass at about 4/5 inches. That is actually quite deep for targets in this particular park plus I have been over the spot it was found before and never got that hit before.

Definitely looks gold, and older gold at that! I'd guess early 1900s? And regarding what it rang up as... gold can ring up anywhere from foil to a zincoln depending on its shape and thickness.

:hello2: :headbang::occasion18: Your gold ring is a beauty! On my puter screen, it's soft glow nearly emerges into the room, which doesn't happen with other gold I see on t-net. BIG CONGRATS & ENJOY IT! Andi

Yup, definitely gold! Congrats! After you find a couple more you'll know without looking at the mark. Rings can come in all kinds of ranges, that's why it's good to dig it all!

Sweet, looks like the rose gold that I have seen is South Dakota.:hello2:
