bear token?

this token has: PPIE going around the top edge of it and a bear that appears to be walking. on the other side the bear is standing with its nose touching the date of 1915. please bear with me about the pix,s being bad. thanks for any info

1915-S Panama-Pacific International Exposition Silver Token. The token grades Extremely Fine. We've never seen anything like this, the token is apparently silver, with one side showing a nicely engraved rampant bear with his snout just about touching the date 1915, the other side has a similar well engraved walking bear with the initials PPIE for the San Francisco Pacific PanAmerican International Exposition. The surfaces are toned with an antique gray color and the rim is plain (not reeded). A simple design, but no doubt historically important with the California bear and the reference to the Exposition. Something that is definitely worth some research, as it is certainly very unusual.

gypsy, that is the same coin but mine is not silver. i think it is brass. gal you were fast on that one by finding out what it was. i wonder if they were made in any other metal? thanks again

It's the token portion of a novelty item called an "edge spinner." Check the edge, and you will probably find a couple of bumps or indentations. These are the points on which the token pivoted within a small frame. Flicking the edge made the token spin rapidly, and the images of both sides would appear together-- in this case, creating a risque view of the two bears mating.

pbk, i tryed to spin this token in deffrent spots and could not see the bears mating . maybe just my eyes?

pbk, i did not think you were kidding me , i just did not see the mating bears no matter how i did spin it. if its a spinner or the other. i just wanted to know what it was. . you have also been helpfull on finds that we don't know any thing about. thank you for the link

Holabird's spinner has a token with blue enameled fields; they came in various finishes.
