I have never seen these shown together anywhere except for Friedman noting the B1 - 1.74 repetitions per character.

Some Basic Statistics of the Beale + Zodiac ciphers

B1 520 / 298 = 1.74 repetitions per character :: unsolved
B2 763 / 180 = 4.23 repetitions per character :: solved in <23 years
B3 618 / 263 = 2.34 repetitions per character :: unsolved

Z408 408 / 54 = 7.55 repetitions per character :: solved in 1 week
Z340 340 / 63 = 5.39 repetitions per character :: solved in 50 years

B1 01 repeated bigrams :: (18, 64)
B2 38 repeated bigrams
B3 02 repeated bigrams :: (181, 203),(89, 96)

Z408 47 repeated bigrams
Z340 21 repeated bigrams

B1 177 single use codes
B2 43 single use codes
B3 124 single use codes

Z408 01 single use code
Z340 01 single use code

Less repetitions per character = harder to solve (B1, B3, B2, Z340, Z408)
Less repeated bigrams = harder to solve (B1, B3, Z340, B2, Z408)
More single use codes = harder to solve (B1, B3, B2, Z340, Z408)

N.B. repetitions per character is ( total number of codes / number of unique codes )

Considering small number of repeated bigrams. Two people walked in the cemetery, avoiding the previously taken path.
