I have found a lot of stuff in both the dry sand and in the water. The gold I have found Has been found mostly in the water. I am not saying you can't find gold in the dry sand because i have but there seems to be more in the water. You should look around where people have laid there towels and blankets there are always marks in the sand after they leave. It seems that the more litter they leave the more stuff they lose. Good luck and happy hunting. ;D

it just depends on your luck for that day. in the dry I always look for the cans and fast food bags that are left be hind. in the wet I have had good luck where people have written there names in the sand with their hands. good luck...

Gold is where you find it. People lose more rings in the water and alot depends on if they were in at high tide or low. I have found rings in the dry sand far from the water too. Just keep moving the coil evenly with the groung and the stuff will come.

Above are some pictures of what I have found on the beach. There is a lot more but that is a sample. Almost all was in the dry sand up where people party, picnic, play and sundbathe.

That's not to say that there isn't a lot to be found in the wet areas along the water line. There is a lot there to be found and a lot of reasons for people to loose things. Waves washing jewelry off or as some have described, peoples fingers getting waterlogged (wrinkled) and rings falling off when reaching for shells or rocks. My experiences though show that there is plenty to be found up in the dry sand.

As I search the beach, I always look at holes that have been dug and where people have been building sand castles etc., Haven't found anything there yet. Probably younger kids without jewelry but you never know... A mother could have been helping a child etc.
