Search is a good place to start.

Good luck, Bryan and most of all, Enjoy yourself. Check first before you start hunting there as some parts of the Island is OFF LIMITS to metal detecting.

Happy Hunting and may you find lots of goodies.

How or who do you check with? Will there be signs?

Will there be signs?

Sometimes and sometimes not...

Cops are a sure sign though...

Enjoy

Brian you can ask at the hotels or just go have fun. If you see some cop jumping up and down it pays to act dumb. :coffee2:

Hope you have fun. Don't brag to anyone what you found and you should be OK. Fill your holes.

Start by reading here........... :read2: http://www.nmhra.netfirms.com/pulltab/

Batteries last longer when you use head phones and it also depends on the amount of targets it responds to.
EXCELLENT advice from Sandman, only drawback isssssssss, you'll get SO interested in this mans stories you'll have NO time to metal detect! :laughing9: Been reading this site for the past week! :read2: In fact Sandman, I saw you give this site to someone else and haven't stopped reading it yet...............just wanted to say thanks :icon_thumleft:

Those lithium batteries last a long time and work great in my machine. Stay away from rechargable nicads. They die without warning.

If your machine has to be ground balanced, make sure you do that periodically. If you're not using a "beach machine", be prepared to turn down the sensitivity in wet sand. You will lose depth, but avoid a lot of chatter.

Get a long handled sand scoop so you're not bending down so much. Get one with a kick brace in the back for your foot. Also, get one that is stainless steel as aluminum is heavier.

TAKE PLENTY OF ICE WATER WITH YOU. THE HEAT OUT THERE IS MURDER RIGHT NOW!! ;D

Thanks for the help. You guys are contributing to my ruining.....lol

POLARIZED SUNGLASSES!!!! These are not only for blocking the sun but they also block the other from seeing what you are looking at.

Hi there, when you get onto your beach, don't forget to take along a sand shovel (stainless steel if you don't want it to rust), a basket with mesh fine enough to hold your finds but allow the sand out and some knee pads (sand can be really rough on the skin). If you'd like some great tips on going about metal detecting on beaches then have a look at http://metaldetectingfortreasure.com/metal-detecting-on-beaches/

good luck

The only use for sunglasses on a beach are... well... never mind. Just don't step on anyone. TTC
