I haven't beach hunted since I left the Florida Keys back in October of 1994 but sometimes wish that I could get to the East coast for some hunting. Although Hurricane Joaquin has and will likely move Northeastward more out to sea, a double Low Pressure center has spun up along the frontal boundary which interacted with the Hurricane to bring such heavy rains to portions of the Mid-Atlantic, the Carolinas and Georgia. The Low Pressure centers will likely increase in intensity as they merge along the frontal boundary, then other Low Pressures are expected to form along the frontal boundary, keeping these systems somewhat anchored over or along the East coast for several days. This spells unsettled weather, stronger winds, large swells, higher tides and heavy undertows along much of the East coast from Miami to possibly New England. It will likely be late Wednesday or Thursday before conditions settle enough to do any beach and shallow water hunting. Keep abreast of the weather as conditions could change significantly with little advance notice.

As soon as the storm is over and the tide goes out, I'd be out there quicker than a brand new paramedic on a heart attack call! Good luck!

it looks like i will wait till Tue afternoon and Wednesday

I was out today just north of there. Signals were few and far between, but an enormous amount of sand is just gone. It took off 50' of 3' high beach at one spot. I found a 10k white gold ring on the high sand. Water is really high. May be high till late in the week. Roads were in minor flood stage.

I hit the high Upper Bay Sunday, but it was at high tide, I found 2 State Quarters and a Lincoln Penny,, its back to work, I hope to catch a good low tide next weekend.

I was just out there. South of 1st street towards the inlet. I found tons of coins. No gold.

BTW I also found a Lincoln cent and few pieces of nice sea glass.

Was there for 2 days this weekend. Found about 2 POUNDS of nice sea glass, a lot of it 100 years old, and a quarter, 2 pennies and a heavy 14k ladies earring. The two gold pieces this week are about 1/4 oz. total. Lots of aluminum slaw. Not too many big shells, no fossils.
