I made two trips to the ocean. It's 150 miles one way, but the only place there is chance to find shipwreck coins.

Here you go: IMG_2260 (1).JPG Both knives have been completely restored and are 100% functional, I already posted these.

IMG_2313.JPG Still chasing that tractor!

IMG_2314.JPG Oil spill on the beach.

IMG_2317.JPGIMG_2318.JPGIMG_2319.JPGIMG_2320.JPG Shells including quohog clam, Atlantic jingle shells, bay scallops and a mussell.

The round object on the one shell is a George III shipwreck copper. The brass ring had me going for a bit - thought it was a ring. The little dark thing on the white disc is a piece of 18th century or so ships' plating in copper to keep Caribbean worms from eating the wood.

Lots of fun. Conditions were not good as too much sand on the beach still. Most everything was found in two small areas.
Anyone know if those long trianguler topped sinkers are newer or older? I haven't seen them before.

The sinkers are not old, at least not in the sense that they’re antique. They’ve been around for years but not a recent innovation.

Thanks. We don't see them here. I think the dozers turned up each batch of stuff.

Nice beach hunt. Easy digging there!

VERY easy digging there! Some of the sinkers were about 18" deep.

I love how the knife cleaned up now you need a sheath for it. I miss mine.

I bought a brown leather sheath and it fits perfectly.
