Got a nice beach find here. But i cannot find any information on the
marks on it. Very heavy for its size so maybe hopefully gold? Arabic maybe if so the only character i see is the last could be a 2?

are the 2 images the same item?
looks like 2 different shapes - IMO
Brady

Looks to be a closeup of the portion between the hook and the main piece.

My eyes keep wanting to see English, but I can't find a way to read it. Is that as clean as it's going to get/as clear a photo you can get?

I mean, just eyeballing the piece it does look like it could be gold. Easiest way to tell will always be to test..

Is the hook portion marked on any side?

hook is marked the same, but way to small to get a picture of. any other pics I have taken with less zoom made the marks blurry(phone wants to focus on closest object...)
I don't have a test kit and the guy at the "we buy gold shop" wont test unless I sale it to him and I usually don't sale my finds, especially for pennies on the dollar for melt value. Ill put pic in with no cropping here.

If the hook itself is marked exactly the same as the other piece, whatever it says is a good thing. When jewelry is manufactured in separate parts, especially hooks of earrings and the earring itself, they will both be marked with their metal content. Same applies for clasps of bracelets/necklaces vs the chain itself which the clasp connects to. Costume jewelry would really have no point in imprinting their name on the hook only to repeat it on the back of the earring itself. Based on what I know about this piece, which is still limited, I'd say it's a safe bet its gold.

On another note, do yourself a favor and buy yourself a test kit.. or at least find another gold guy. Avoid we buy gold shops like they are nonexistent.. because that's how they see your gold value. Jewelers are another option if you need your piece looked at. Can't say I've ever had a place tell me I have to sell to them if they tested my item. They usually test, determine karat, then quote. A simple no thank you and good day and away I go.

It has the look of high karat gold IMO. Wish your pictures were clearer though.
