Are all of them metalic? I have found ceramic pieces shaped just like the two smaller pieces, I have forgotten where I found them and what they were intended for, I found out at the time what they were, if I remember, I will post it. This is going to drive me nuts trying to remember. I may still have the pieces somewhere. Mine were about 1/4 or 3/8 diameter, same slanted ends, same rounded edges. :icon_scratch:

The shiny pieces definitely metal. The bottom picture, two pcs on left read on the metal detector. They look to have very small pieces of metal in them.

I've seen pieces like the ones on the left used as decorative landscaping gravel but I'm not sure that's what it was originally intended for. The other ones, did you clean them? They look like polished stainless steel, what do they read as on your detector?

I did shine the metel pieces just before the pictures. They were a little tarnished. Stainless does sound like a possibility. I was hoping they were silver bars smoothed down from the sand. I will have to get out the AT Gold and report. Didn't think about posting a recent reading.

Solved on the two dull pieces. Polishing media it is. Thanks for info. Looked it up and sure enough, that was it.

lostcauses hit it on the head.

Polishing media (all pieces)

Thanks for the inputs.

Now it's on to bigger and better things. Thanks again.

What kind of metal did they end up being?

Looks cool... but I'm not sure it's Polishing media effect. The Ocean can also cause a polished effect from the pictures and videos I saw by searching google. I'm also taking in to account that this was found 20 years ago.
