Lately, I've been in a more polluted area. The beach I'm at is closed due to nasty bacteria counts. I didn't know this yesterday while I was wading in up to my knees, and luckily didn't dunk my head under to retrieve anything.

Do you all stay out of waters that are closed to swimming?

Beats being physically dragged out.

You got that right!
Any open sore and you're asking for trouble.

I agree with fleamistress and bk......... :o

Hold your breath,

And only open your eyes for a few seconds at a time.

Just kidding, I'd have to stay out until they recommend that it's OK to go back in. Not worth getting some nasty illness.

STAY OUT!! Especially if you have any cut. My dad had a small cut while diving in a river. He had 2 surgerys on one finger, they were about to cut it off, and he had to wear a portable IV bag and pump for 6 months. Id reccomend staying out. Be safe, HH

No brainer here. STAY OUT!!!!

mmmmm..............if its not safe for swimming ,then its not safe for ANYTHING ! :o :o :o

I have to agree with everyone else ! Keep out of that mess unless you want to get sicker than a dog.Theres other cleaner places to look I'm sure

Stay out! I don't care if your wearing waders, you are asking for trouble and it isn't worth it. Just think how bad the water might me even after they say it is safe a day later. :(

Stay out! I was building a house on the beach one time, we were in the framing stage and there was a red tide. Those things put off gasses that are carried by the wind and cause breathing problems, irritation to the larnyx etc. etc. I had just enough respirators for my crew but not one for myself, and couldn't find another to buy anywhere. They were ALL sold out. Man my throat and lungs hurt for a week, I got nausea, irritated eyes, it was nasty, it took alot of rum after work to get me felling better. ;D If I didn't have to be there I wouldn't have, so there's no reason to be there for a hobby until it clears up.
