Wow what a day!
We are still in search mode & we covered about 8 fields in the morning with just 1 hammered to show.
After lunch we did some long searches into fields around our Roman Metal Working Site. After which we decided to do the edges of the site whilst we waited for Land-Mag to join us & try some more new land. What a stroke of luck that was!
We were getting the odd scrappy when Cru'Dad pops out a 31BC Roman Silver! Great job done, he wants to move on & wait for Land-Mag. I told him we had plenty of time & to keep gridding a bit more. Not long after he shouts in a way it was easy to guess; "Guess what I just found". My immediate response was CELTIC GOLD, & the celebrations began.....
We then tried 2 new fields with Land-Mag & only got 1 scrappy.
To get a Roman BC coin is rare for us to get a BC Celtic 10 minutes later is a first.

6 scrappies
1943 Sixpence
Lizzy 1565 3 Pence
Georgian Seal Fob (no stone)
Medieval openwork Mount (broken)
Roman Hair Pin
Mark Antony Legionary Denarius of the VII Legion 31 BC
CELTIC AMBIANI - GALLIC WAR - GALLO-BELGIC E GOLD STATER Circa 50BC

If you read up on them, they are both historic coins, & involve the payment of either Legionaries or Celtic Mercenaries!!!
NO VOTES PLEASE (Both were Cru'Dads finds - non-member)

PS. This will be the first Gold Coin we give away to the landowner. We did promise if we had another of the same type he could have it. They have been very good to us & have never wanted any money for the valueable finds/coins.

I thought you guys were due for a big one, Well Done ! Clearly Banner !!!!!!!!!! Hoisting an adult beverage to the Cru !

Wow - what a day!! It doesn't get any better than 2000 year old silver and gold. Please pass on my congrats to Cru'Dad.

Yea Cru' Dad !! (Sign him up. :D) How noble it was to gift the ancient gold to the landowner. The Roman silver is an excellent example. This type is usually found in a worn slick state. I see this impressive coin has full detail. I imagine the three pence was a day's pay in 1535? Very significant finds. Great Day all around!
Best Regards,
Phil

JUST WOW!!! I can't imagine digging something like that. The thought of whose hands those were in is just mind boggling! Super big congrats to you and your dad!

Incredible!!! Now that is saving some history there. I can only Imagine holding one of those in my hand!! Congrats.

What a great day for your Dad Cru, getting both in one day is awesome, so congrats on the pony and the silver, the Roman pin is a nice find also.

wow cru!, I don't have words for such awesomeness!, that's a level of oldness none of us will EVER see!!

tell your dad to take a bow, that's amazing!!!
thatd be a banner coming your way for sure if it was yours!

tell your father congrats on behalf of ALL OF TREASURENET!!!

Killer finds! So that stater is a duplicate of one you guys found elsewhere, or on that landowner's property in the past?

Also, that denarius is in pretty nice shape considering the age, those seem to be pretty worn down if/when found in Great Britain.
