Found this on a Rev War site lying just two inches beneath the ground. It is 26 inches in length and 3/4 inch in width. It has stamped on it: Phelps-Dodge Ground Rod and then further down it is stamped "Ground Rod". The pointed end is blunted and the other end where it bends is hammered. It appears to be brass. Anyone confirm this as a bayonnet even though stamped with the word bayonnet? Thanks!
