Without a photo all I can say is it was made shortly after WW-2. Late 1940's -1950's probably. The "West Germany"' places it
made after WW-2 when Germany was divided.

I can't give you dates but it sounds like Rosenthal porcelain. My wife’s uncle worked there so we have a lot of those dishes. Could be old as their stamp now says Rosenthal. A picture would help. HH, Mike

Hi Rhonda, welcome to the forum. Could you please post a closeup of the markings on the backside of the dinnerplate? Sometimes there are pattern numbers, symbols, etc. that can give a few clues as to the story of the china. Thanks.

LOL Rhonda, I need to have my glasses checked, I can't read a thing. :D ;D If you can get a photo in focus that would be great, but if not maybe we have enough info to go on. I'll see if I can find something. I'm thinking its a transfer (decal) pattern and not hand painted, but will do some checking. Later.

Is the rose gray? Please tell us what the color is.

It seems to me we'll need a clear pic of the reverse markings in order to narrow the possibilities.

So far, every Dresden mark I've seen has had the crown and the word "Dresden" somewhere below the crown, so in that regard the markings fit. I just can't find the exact mark, actually nothing even close yet. It seems to be something from 1945 - 1991 due to the words "Western Germany" Probably after 1962 or so when the Berlin Wall was built. Just guessing since I can't find the maker.

Late 1940's -1950's , perhaps a little later... The "West Germany"' places it
made after WW-2 when Germany was divided. Beautiful pattern!

Pictures are blurry.

From what I gather BAVARIA is the company name.

Here's another photo of a rose. And check this site under BAVARIA. This company handles replacement units.

Is this close?
