Battries

Different levels for different detectors. I think my GB-2 starts to tail off around 7 volts, it takes two 9 volt batteries too.

Thank you for your reply. I was thing around 6 or 7 volts. Was not sure. I will keep an eye on the voltage and the way the detector works as the voltage goes down in the battries. Thanks.

As mentioned it varies from manufacturer designs. Most quality detectors employ voltage regulation circuitry to keep performance stable to a designed limit. I would agree that under 7v from a 9v circuit would begin to compromise performance.

Most new detectors have a voltage regulator with in them for stability and performance .

If your battery falls down to with in a volt or so of the Regulated Voltage You will Know.

Bad things will start to happen.

Until then, it will work the same it you have a battery 1 volt above that level or a New battery 3 volts above that level.

Any machine that takes 9v batteries are most likely regulated at 6 or 5 volts.
