Battlefield relic?

I dug these relics today within site of state battlefield. Does anyone know what this long brass piece that I nicked? The threads on it look old enough.

could be a part of buggy or carriage hardware. found this in an old catalog. looks like the long bolt sticking out of the top.

That's the closet. I wonder if the a buggy bolt would be brass, humm.
