Hello , just bought my first detector ( tesoro sand shark ) , have a few questions maybe someone can answer , or point me in the right website(s). Going to spend a month in Eastern Poland roaming the battlefields , is it legal to use a detector in Poland ? And what relics are legal to bring back ? What about rifles ? Anything tips or tricks ? Have been using the tesoro about a month now think I'm use to it now.
Any help, info would be great !
Thanks !
Bill
ps, oh yea , Was in EOD in Iraq, know what to look out for too !

Keep in mind that whatever answer you get, for the countries your wanting to hunt, may only apply to state/public lands. It would not apply to private farmer lands, where you can simply hunt with permission, during fallow time.

Some European countries seem to have laws that absolutely forbid detecting altogether, yet there are actually forums, clubs, etc... in those countries. I once sold a detector to a guy in Spain, who had answered a classified ad I ran on a USA forum, for detector-for-sale. In the course of the sale, I couldn't help but ask what kind of stuff they find, where they hunt, and how do they deal with the laws & such. He said that he has traveled and hunted several of the European countries around him, and that if there are any laws, they are considered to apply to public lands. Also, naturally, they hunt deep in the forests where they simply aren't seen anyhow :)
