Battle of Koniggratz 1866 medal

Hit a site today that was at one time the county poor farm and found a couple of unexpected items! Medal from the Austro-Prussian war of 1866 also known as the 7 month war. This medal was awarded to personal that were directly involved in the Battle of Koniggratz. Also found a 2 centesimi Italian coin from 1861, notice that someone scratched what it looks like HAR or HAB on it!

Very interesting medal. I can’t imagine those turn up very often anywhere, let alone in the U.S. Congrats!

There are actually 4 versions of this medal. Yours is for the actual battle on July 3rd. The other medals are for participation in other parts of the war.

Looking at the coin last night and found that a date had been scratched in on the obverse side, looks like 1?74 on each side of the 2
