Found 2 objects that I am not sure what they are. The rusted item is ringing in at 80 on my AT Pro so I am thinking it is brass. The other item (sorry i did not take a pic with a scale item) is the same size as the rusted one and has a heart shape to it. Not sure what either item is. Farm dating back to late 1700s and there was a Mill and Hotel in the area. The area is against the Battle of Bull Run. Thanks for looking. I'm unable to ID your items, but I'm sure someone will quickly. Although I will suggest that your rusted item is iron and giving you the 80 number due to its shape.

TomPA...i have never heard of an item giving a number based on shape. That is amazing! It does look like iron with the rust. I have pulled brass horse tack out of the ground with no rust so the numbers were confusing. I will put it in my electrolysis machine this weekend. Thanks

I don't know what the items are but it's very easy to tell if the figure "8" item is iron or not, if a magnet sticks to it is iron, if not it's non-ferrous, but the rust pretty much says it is iron, IMHO, brass doesn't rust.

A lot of iron rings up high.(old tin beer cans etc)

My guess would be a Cinch for a small rope.
