Yes, performance will be erratic and unpredictable when it drops below a certain voltage.

Always carry spares!

Oh, you're very welcome Shane...

I wouldn't want you to miss out on a good target!

Just imagine, after a few hours of finding this, and that,
you move over to try a different area and find nothing.
Maybe 1 pulltab on top of the ground, and a penny.
So you decide nothing is there and quit for the day.

Two days later, you pick up your machine to detect and the batteries are ded ded.

Perhaps there were a number of silver coins and maybe a nice gold ring
in that last area, but you will never know!

I buy the big packs of name brand batteries when they go on sale.
For some reason I get duracell, but all name brand are almost the same.

Don't buy em at a dollar store! Could fizzle in 2hrs.
It takes a LOT of use to justify hi cost of rechargeables.

Find some Au !!!

Hi, The Nine Volt Replacements I Had Were Actually 7.2 Volts. And When They Got Low You Sure Knew It The Machine Would Go Crazy Then It Went Dead Quick...Thanks
