Looks like my rechargeable battery pack for my DFX may have bit the dust.
I charged it yesterday (overnight charge) and it reads 9.7V, so I guess I would probably get no more than 1 hour out of that.
If I use the disposable battery pack, what are the best 'off the shelf' batteries I can SAFELY use for best performance and detecting length?
Just regular Duracell or lithium(?)...

thanks

Go with Duracell (Not Chinese Duracell).
The Lithium batts are in my opinion poor value for money and are prone to fail suddenly.
Every time I have used the lithium cells I have had one fail in the pack (BHID)after 10 or 11 hours use.
They are expensive and do not last very much longer than good alkalines.
Just an opinion.

Consumer Reports says Costco's Kirland alkalies are very good and they are less expensive than Duracell.

Any dollar store for cheap batteries...

I usually buy batteries at Dollar General. They last a good long time for the price. I really haven't noticed any great gains by using more expensive batteries. But then, I've never really timed them.

Sorry, been off for a while. I posted this reply to another White's user who is worried about battery problems: If you want more than four hours out of your machine in one outting, go to NED(forum sponsor) and order an AW-2200 Li-Ion battery. On my DFX, I can go 4-5 days and a recharge takes 2 hours! :blob7: It's the best money I've put in my system, including coils, ProPointer(a real close 2nd), rain covers, etc. If you hunt a lot, it's the best investment you can make.

I have had great results with Harbor Freight batteries. On sale $5 for 32 I think, otherwise $7 for 32.
