Hey guys,

Looking for your input on a pair of basket weave buttons recovered at a Rev War battery occupied by both continentals and loyalists. The pewter was dug about 3 feet from an RP button that was recovered by Gheenoe78 earlier this year. While I know this design became popular in 1770 is there any precedent for military use? Opinions welcome

These are civilian patterns but have been found all over the East Coast on Rev sites. Including military sites. They are not, strictly speaking, a military issue item. Those are nice ones.

Thanks smokey, as with many of the other large unmarked pewters I've recovered no definitive military connotation but curious how often they show up at rev sites.
