Base To Candlestick Holder?

I dug this on the same site where I recovered what appears to be part of a pewter spoon. I had it sitting in my collection of unknown stuff and was looking at it a bit closer today. To me it looks like the base of a small candlestick holder. I believe it is pewter as well. To bad the ground is getting frozen. This site was just starting to produce for me.

Trying to revive the thread. I don't believe it has anything to do with a candlestick holder. Way too small. Even early candlestick holders usually had a much wider base than the body for obvious safety reasons.
I'm thinking it came off of something that was used in the kitchen or dining room. Possibly a salt cellar or something along those lines.

Looks like the part of a towel rack that hooks to the wall.
