Barn found buckle.

A few years ago I was granted permission to scavange an old barn before demolition. Quite a few keeper items came from there including this buckle. I found it hanging on a square nail in the "basement" of the barn. I am sure it is old, but how old ? Any info on this would be

Its a harness buckle COVER,and dates to the late 1800's I beleive....not positive on the date
