Got other family arrangements this weekend, so its was a short hunt (3hrs 15mins) without Dad on the recently ploughed Barley Field. I turn up today & they have ploughed another 1/3rd of the field but left the top 1/3rd which I wanted to search, so decided to do the stubble as it had recently rained & would be better to search/dig.

Had 4 scrappy Roman Coins, 1 Rose Farthing, 1 Royal Farthing, Jetton & broken Fibula.

Decided in the last few minutes to go back over the better area (now that its settled & the rain has helped), & finished with a nice head stud fibula (missing pin).
Plus I had an interesting Beast Head partifact (whatzit), might be Saxon or Roman :dontknow:

Not bad for a short hunt on a non-target field.

SS is right :icon_thumleft:, well done mate . I went out wednesday and all I got was a load of lead seals, 1 viccy farthing and a rose farthing. My mate, who came with me found a Portuguese 1000 Reis gold coin in one of my foot prints dated 1711 :-\. Got to check my settings :laughing7:, and my Mum nearly set fire to the house, again :help:

Wow, he had a nice coin. Although missing stuff is always going to happen, the Fibula came from an area with our footprints all over it, it plotted very close to the hammered we had last week. :-[
I hope the other situation improves for you.

Look forward to meeting up later in the season :coffee2:
