Detector(s) used
XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
First picture is Dads last outing & includes a few scrappies, leather workers palm guard, & Livery button.

We spent 4 hours today & just about finished the best area of the field.

Another amazing result (3 out of 3 for me: Mark Antony, Lizzy Large Flan, & Celtic Potin)

16 Scrappies
3 Broken Roman Fibula bits
Roman Hobnail :laughing7: (just after I said I only have a few)
Small Roman Steelyard Weight
George II Pan/Trade Weight
2 Lead Tokens

My/our oldest coin ever & part of the earliest type of coins ever minted in Britain (100BC being the oldest):
80-50BC - Cantii Potin, Angular bull type. Amazing condition!!!:headbang:
I never thought it possible because these are from a tribe in Kent & I'm nowhere near the tribal boundry!

Thats a Banner find again, Cru.... Not as amazing (for ME) like the Saxon finds last week, but outstanding condition and rarity!!! It looks like everyone is out making finds and we sit here, soil dry to the bone, done with the grubber, you can barely get any signals...

Fantastic coin ! Congrats :occasion14:

The Saxon day was a banner day, this coin although probably never to be repeated (in our area) is only a £40. Largely unappreciated due to its lack of commercial appeal.

20 Recorded on the old CCI, not sure how many since?

The Index queried - CCI

20 is not a big number when talking coins... Fact is that you can't go much older with domestic coins in UK. That makes it special for me.

The condition of the 2000 year old coin amazing! I think one of the Metal Detecting gods has been holing it in his hand!

I just love your finds. Always very interesting. I was lucky enough to spend a month in England as an exchange student. Your posts make me wish I had been into MDing at the time. I hope you and your dad keep at it. Best wishes and happy hunting to the both of you.

Hi CRUSADER,

Love your posts, I found an item similar in design and metal composition to the one I've circled in your photo while diving and detecting in the USA, any idea what it is?
