Hello everyone, decided to get out this weekend even though weather wasn't the greatest on Saturday (some rain) and Sunday wasn't bad but weeds in the woods are getting taller, and although I've been lucking this year avoiding spiders and their webs....... Well yesterday I put my face right into one and I was swiping my neck while that damn thing was crawling all over it. LOL, I HATE spiders!
Saturday was a lot of digging without much yield so I decided to finally take a junk picture. One "keeper" was what I thought was a civil war three ring bullet, but it looked to modern, so I posted it on What is It? A couple of folks replied confirming it to be post-Civil War.
Sunday I went to a new spot where the first two holes yielded good finds. Looks like a small spoon with a long handle, copper-nickel silver plated spoon, I'll post the makers mark later and the second hole about three feet away was a 1914 Barber dime. Searched the new area for a couple of hours without anymore metal detecting keepers but managed to find two nice bottles:
F.W. SCHOONMAKER, NEW YORK. (Small bottle). Made 1890-1903
R. BOEHMER and SON MT KISCO N.Y. Hutchison stopper blob top.
Later in the afternoon I met up with Don-in-Brewster checked out a new spot where I managed to find 2 Wheaties, a 1907 Indian-head, and another 1914 Barber dime but this one has a D mint mark.
Post is a little wordy, HH
