Have had the fortune to get on some older sites in the Piedmont this past month. 3 different locations but all around 1900 homes. The 1893 Barber half is my first and was found with a 13"ultimate coil on my E Trac. Around 8" in some dark beautiful soil in the farm house yard. The next site was a front yard of a 1905 mill house that had a lot of clad in it but this was in the middle and the 1928 wheat was in the same hole but an inch above the 1917 Type 1 Standing Liberty. Date is still readable. This yard was loaded with screws and nails so was using TTF with 8" Sunray but there were none of those around these coins. Just a nice high tone with a bouncy TID. The 1907 IH was on the curb under a bottle cap I thought just might be a wheat at 12-42 but when I removed it from the hole and rescanned I got a 12-28. Might as well get the tab out of the hole but much to my surprise it was the IH. Those can come in at the strangest places and still it reads 12-28 in an air test. My next site was suppose to be a scouting trip on land that has had some Indian and Revolution era relics found laying on the ground when tilling the soil for their soy crop. Due to target practice owners son and friends had going on I had to move across the creek to a neighbors land who was kind enough to show me a stone foundation and a stone wall on his land in the woods. Was using the G2 at this site and it was a nail nightmare. The 1853 Seated Dime was next to the wall and wasn't surrounded by the iron. Only had a short time there and hope to go back soon. It was just so cold with wind chill in the 20's. I called it a day. Was a great way to start the year. Also picked up several Rosie's and Merc's but these are the best of my January finds. Gotten permission for 4 more sites that Tenspeed and Smittyman are joining me on so its going to be a fun weekend. Thanks for looking, JR

Great finds John. You've been killing it! Send some of that luck my way, I'm in desperate need of some!

Great finds- congrats! Looking forward to seeing what you find this weekend.

HH & continued success!

Y'all must have some sweet soil over there in Nawth Carolina, those coins are in great condition!

Thanks guys, while I will sell my gold and silver Mercury and Rosie dimes the large silver is here to stay. Had the half looked at a local coins store and they say 50 to 60 and the SLQ is in the 75 range. Her boob is still clear on the quarter. The seated is bent on upper right corner but hard to tell in pic. Josh it has been a lucky streak I'm on and hope it doesn't stop but all good things come to an end. Glad to pass some along. Back to the parks soon to get another gold find so I can get another coil I want.
