My third visit at a park where I'm finding so many buttons in a fairly small area. Another button today, marked City Button Works New York. Lots of ammo and spent casings all over. Popped the Barber dime on my first good signal. Must have been some training grounds at some point. There is an active Fort going back to WW1 a mile away. Not sure what the other objects are, was thinking maybe gun parts...dunno. Bullet has been fired but perhaps it was a dud. Marked RA S 3-17.

The thing next to the cartridge looks like maybe it’s a “stripper clip” that holds cartridges in a row (to be pushed into a rifle with a fixed internal magazine)

cool stuff.

Thanks .....I uncovered three of those items so far, I found so many spent casings I was wondering if these were related, as they are similar dimensions. 🤔🙂

I like cartridge casings. They can offer pretty good date ranges from the caliber and headstamps.
Here’s an image of a full one I snagged from the internet.

I'm thinking with what appears to be a collar disk, and the Barber, I go with the WWI facility nearby.
