I decided to go to a great looking field that I just got permission for despite the 4 inches of snow on the ground. It sits next to a really old church. As soon as the 12 o clock church bells rang, I got a nice 91 hit on the T2 (aka. silver.) I dug it and out popped my first half of the year, A 1902 Barber!! I really love hearing church bells echo through the hills when I'm in a quiet field. It makes me feel like I suddenly traveled back 200 years. Maybe I'm not the only one that feels that way.haha Anyways, that's about all I found today...I was really only picking up larger things because of the snow. I was only able to stay about 30 minutes because the owners son in law thought thought I was trespassing even though I got permission from the owner herself. She was a very sweet 87 year old lady and I told her I would split anything I found but her son in law thought I was taking advantage of her somehow I'm not sure:icon_scratch: I didn't bother arguing so I said I'm sorry and won't return....some people:tongue3:HH everyone!

sweet find...maybe you will get the chance to go back.......

Great find ! Too bad about the son wrecking the scene - Maybe you can find out when he'll be out of town - get back in there somehow !

Did the son happen to have a metal detector in his truck? ;)

Sweet barber! great save!

Nice! Love that Barber Half, Congrats!

great half. congrats. my first thoughts are to consider the son a big ol' Richard Noggin, but I had to step back and look at it from his point of view. Evidently he does not know you, so he is just being cautious. It would be a better situation if he was willing to take the time to chat with you and get to know you. From my own personal experience, I had to be very cautious of people coming around my Mom after my Dad passed away. There were actually people trying to get her to tie up my Dad's retirement funds in long term annuities and other investments. Being the 'sweet little old lady' that she is, my Mom would most likely agree to anything if the person came across as being 'nice'.

Yeah I did consider that, Unfortunately theres just crappy people out there that DO con innocent people out of money. Maybe he will put a little thought into it and realize im not one of those people.... just a local fella with a hobby8-)

Congrats on your silver in the snow find! Too bad about the site/son in law.
