The "Honey Hole" gave me another beauty today. I only got to hunt for about an hour and a half due to weather getting nasty here down south. After about 10 minutes of detecting I got a solid quarter signal at about 6". I dug to about 6" inches and nothing. I was thinking great a big piece of junk that is deep. Not so much. A couple more inches down was this beauty, 1898 O Barber Half. It doesn't look so great with the dark spots on the front, they would easily come off but I'm not touching it. A little bit later I snagged the best old key I think I've ever seen. Next up was some wheaties and the 1902 Indian. The 1903 Indian was buried with a bunch of nails in the hole. Still came up pretty decent on the Explorer. The token and hotel tag came towards the end of the hunt.

Totals from the Honey Hole thus far

Silver Half - 1
Silver Quarters - 3
Silver Dimes - 7
V Nickels - 4
Indians - 6
1787 NJ Copper

The B - 1/2 is a sleeper.

Hi, the key that you have found looks likes the type used on cabinets of Edison Diamond Disc windup phonographs. Not seeing it in person this is just a guess, but to me thats what it looks to be for.
