I recently got a Minelab etrac, and have been having hard time learning how to use it. I haven't had a detector for a long time, and had used Whites and Fisher in the past. Anyway, here is the first silver coin I have found with it. Found at a home built in 1904. I got permission to hunt it, and found this about 3" deep at the edge of the gravel driveway. I didn't scratch it. I'm sure it was because it was in the gravel.

Congrats, man! 1800s silver is a huge way to christen the new machine!

Nice Barber dime

Nice! Keep working the eTrac SLOWLY. It loves to go a little slower than the other detectors. Be careful about digging the false iron tones; if it nulls, it's iron or probable crap. But, when you can, learn the 2 tone ferrous mode for trashy areas; it's mind-boggling.

That is a great start with your new machine.Just read your manual and try to find what works best for you.

Nice to see you posting finds Ron. I always enjoy your pictures on the other sub forum, and now I see you are just as talented at detecting. Gravel is very tough on coins. Your Barber is a great way to get your first silver with a new machine.

Congrats on pulling the Barber. :occasion14: They are scarce around here. I have only pulled 2 barbers in 17 months.

your '98 dime matches my quarter, but you got the S mint:-), and a lot nicer condition!!
