Got together with Terry from the Club on Friday morning (Oct 5th) to hunt a spot in a city park that he tried and had some luck.

We had a friendly wager going that had a dollar going to the digger with the first relic, silver, Indian or button. Looked like Terry was going to get the dollar as he dug a button; it looked modern but did have the seal of England on the front. That was his "moment of glory" that morning.

We toiled over the earth for a couple hours and in that time I dug two Buffs, one with a date.

Eventually our paths crossed and I mentioned that I'd like to test the ground between the macadam walkway and the stream, so we headed that way.
Within 5 minutes I dug a high tone to find silver!

Before leaving the site I also dug a horse tack rivet IMG_6830.JPG

and a cast lead lighting standard to a train set IMG_6829.JPG

We headed back to the trucks for a wrap-up and some time for sharing stories. Terry made good and on his wager and sent a George Washington my way before he headed out.

Good times.

Thanks thrifty76now! Yes, it was, and the shocker was not recognizing the pattern at first but knowing it must be pre-Merc!
