After finding a 1903 fishscale at the old hunted out spot the other night, I decided to go back today and go really slow. I almost always have reactivity set at 3 at this spot due to the amount of iron and multitude of small foil. Today I lowered the reactivity to 2 and gave it a shot. I dug lots of nails and foil, but it was worth it. It payed off with another fishscale, and a barber dime. I haven't dug a barber since spring of 2017 so I was extremely happy to snag one. Of all the barber dimes I've dug this is the first 1911 so that's cool too.

I have to check, but I believe this makes 57 silver coins from this small spot. Must have been quite the place way back when. Wow, what a haul. Those two old silvers from different countries look good together. Well done

Very cool! Nice silver! :icon_thumleft: Why do they call it a fish scale?

Because it’s so tiny it literally resembles a scale off a fish. They are the same diameter as US half dimes, but are slightly less weight.

love barbers good finds keep rippin it my friend

Nice finds Amigo ! King Edward silver is always good - only 8 years of coin mintage !

Ah OK. I was looking at the wreath and the head on the coin and couldn't see anything resembling a fish scale!
