Barber, 2 IH's and then I went temporary blind and had to cut it short for my safty.

Well went out to my Supper 1900 picnic site to do some detecting. I decided to hit the scrub bush area and WHAMM. Out from know were a branch slapped me across the face taking out one of my contact lenses. Know I have bad eyes naturally and I figured if I lose the other one could be a very bad thing. My md buddy could not make it today so I call it kwits. My finds .. Interesting ring on the surface. 005.JPG 006.JPG The 1899 Barber dime. 009.JPG Total finds today. 011.JPG 013.JPG I am done with detecting in the woods. Now its farm fields only. Fricken brush sucks..

beautiful Barber... :)

Nice finds, mom used to say, "better than a stick in your eye" Where are your spare glasses? Be careful, don't want you looking like a pirate.

Some of the areas I hunt are just terribly thick. I have had several melt downs getting my equipment and myself tangled up. I once took a stick in the ear and thought for sure I popped my ear drum. The only reason I hunt these sites is because nobody else ever would. Doesn't make me smart but it's scored me lots of great finds

Nice score, get some safety glasses, and go back to the bush!! jk be safe and keep on digging.... :occasion14:

I really can't wait for some fields myself Abe. I could put the permissions/door knocking on hold till next year when the fields are in crop again and be perfectly happy. Great finds.

With this hobby i try to do what everyone else doesn't do. Nice digs.

Yes it reminded me of the movie Christmas Story. You will shoot your eye out.... How am I going to explain this? I will be band form metal detecting. NO! :censored:

Yep... That and some research.

Sorry she pressed the wrong button. Yes that and some research...

Nice finds.
I get migraines once in a while and my vision gets, well, really messed with blind spots up for about 30-45 minutes. It can really ruin a hunt to say the least.
I feel for ya'.

Congrats on the finds anyway. It could have ended worse.

My vision is so bad I had a hard time reading the detectors screen.

Nice find on the Morgan Helix!!! The 16 gold rings is just added bonus!

My next trip I might try using safety goggles. Good Idea! Today was a good day out detecting in the fields. Brush Free!

That is one of the things I hate about the woods, I've had branches hit me in the face so many times now. I even had a thorn bush branch hit me in the face. I'm sorry about losing the contact lense, sounds annoying.

ive been slapped in the eye so many times by branches, i know..it hurts bad if it gets you good, pain, watery eye, then the nose starts running non stop.... yeah ive been there, its not enough to keep me out of the woods tho, i would suggest safety goggles.
