Got out again tonight to my sweet little spot. I focused on the cellar hole I found the half cent. Yesterday the weather was all the way up into the mid 50's which in turn thawed out the ground considerably. I took advantage of this. These cellar holes were lived in all the way up until the early 1900's, but most of these homsites were established in the late 1700's so the finds are all mixed up on the timeline. My first target was the 1905 Barber, and then not but 10 minutes later I dug the 1865 2 Cent. I was very excited about this 2 cent coin because the last 2 cent I found was almost unidentifiable. This one seems to be in good shape. I also dug a crotal bell, (my first) a couple buttons, one with some nice gold gilt. A couple interesting brass objects that read LISK...anyone have a clue. And finnaly I dug what appears to be my very first knee buckle. This little guy was about 8 inches deep and read a very solid quarter, I thought for sure I had a coin....but when this buckle popped out I wasn't dissapointed. My final target was this ladies hair peice of some sort. Interesting. I have alot of area to cover and haven't even began to scratch the surface. Thanks for looking.
