Bar Weight?

Here's another puzzling piece I found recently. Both ends show some grinding / pecking marks and the whole piece is smooth and polished. The bottom side is ground flat. Would this be an ungrooved bar weight or something else?

The material is a little from what I would expect on a bar weight, but not unheard of. I think I see some work on it, and if it looks worked, then it is a bar weight. Size and shape fit the type. I'm thinking you found yourself something nice!!!!

I agree, I am looking at the polishing around the ends as well as the top, slight but noticable pecking on the piece. I am thinking the same as Jon and say you scored!! Jon you think this could be a possible boat-stone pre-form?? OR do you think the bar weight?? I see both as possibilities.........................GTP....

It sure does look like it was shaped that way on purpose. You can see the pecking all around the outer edge. Bar Atl-Atl Weight sounds pretty feasible to me. Great find Ryan!!

Thanks for weighing in and I appreciate your opinion Jon. I'm unsure of the material type, when wet it's a dark green.

Thanks GTP, I put this piece uncer my scope today and noticed grinding or polishing marks over the entire piece except for the areas with the slightly pecked marks.
